Middle East Technical University was founded under the name "Orta Doğu Yüksek Teknoloji Enstitüsü" (Middle East High Technology Institute) on November 15th, 1956 to contribute to the development of Turkey and Middle East countries by creating a skilled workforce in the fields of natural and social sciences.
Over 20,000 students have registered to METU in the 2003-2004 academic year and approximately 25% of these are enrolled in graduate programs.
ODTU is more than a university. It is a way of expression. It is a dynamic that keeps you always at the top.
