Battements au coeur de l'orient
Yesterday, Beats in the Heart of Orient or in its original name Battements au coeur de l'orient played in the historical concert hall, Palladium, in Malmo. After a 4-hour Arabic class, I wanted to refresh my mind with the Middle Eastern music and took my seat in the concert hall.
Beats in the Heart of Orient was founded by Keyvan Chemirani, an exiled Iranian percussionist who lives in the southern France. Beats of him have combined with other eastern-origin musical instruments and the great voice of Maryam Chemirani. Oriental and Mediterranean rhythms have revolved around the hall as a dedicated darwish.
